About Me
Me
My childhood looked idyllic from the outside...but the truth was one I couldn't even bare myself...let alone tell anyone. Sexually and emotionally abused for the majority of my childhood years, I buried the memories deep inside until I was strong enough to start healing from the trauma and pain.
I am now a mother of four sweet, wonderful children and the wife of a very humorous and faithful Yorkshireman...the family I prayed for as a child.
I strive every day to live bravely and rise above the darkness of those early years...to seek joy and the light that comes from Christ.
Letting go of the fear and raising my voice for others to hear my story is the bravest thing I have ever done...and my purpose.
Regardless of your faith, your beliefs or where you come from...
I am here to tell you...
You are loved! You are worthy! You can Rise Above!
Why
I am a collector of relationships... There are so many lovely people in this world with stories to share and I find great joy and inspiration in learning from other's experiences...so it is about time I share mine!
What Next
While I continue to share my story via social media and this blog I will continue to work on my book which I can only pray will inspire others not only to rise above and shed their shame, but to seek the light in the midst of darkness and bring others along!
